Bit o' Bits

We saw Pirates 3 this weekend and it rocked like it very well should have. Even The Man enjoyed it, despite the fact he was expecting to fall asleep halfway through. "It's no 300, but I did like it," says he. I roll my eyes at this comment and continue on.
We have a new addition to our quasi-high tech family: A new 32" flat screen TV. Oh yeah! It's damn sharp too! We've also turned on the air for the first time this year so it's dark and cold just like a theatre in our living room now, except it's ok for us to stretch out and fall asleep during the movie.

Passing The Time

There's been talk all over the news about the cicadas coming this year, but so far in this area they've been a no show. I don't know if it's because of the up-and-down weather we've been having or maybe they did come out of the ground and it's just sooo windy they've all been blown away. And I mean really windy. I even drew a sketch of my 12 step car to door walk this morning. This is not an exaggeration. Even my little car needs a little extra effort to keep it straight on the road with the force of wind upon it.

So I have finished the Y-Me Race video. You can see it HERE and I've also added it to my links bar. I also just finished my scrap book from Japan. Woo! It only took me nine months! But knowing my track record for finishing very involved projects, that's probably my best record.

Back to Gaming

Ahhh...the semester is now complete! What was to be my 3rd to last class turned into my 2nd to last class because my teacher decided he didn't feel like coming back on Thursday since everyone's project was done. SCORE! Added bonus to this turn of events...I'm going to my first professional soccer game EVER! It's a little chilly tonight, but I don't think that'll stop me from enjoying the Chicago Fire game! And now that I've learned to like beer, I'll enjoy it even more because beer just goes so well with sports, like wine in a french restaurant or smoke in a pool hall. It may not be my everyday choice, but some moments are made more...momentous with the additional elements. But whilst I enjoy my game, I leave you with a couple final pieces which bled all energy and extra time from my very being these past few weeks!
Environmental Poster: Original artwork made in illustrator
Postcard Promoting Faux Visa Campaign: Pirated photos from various sources. Don't worry, this is non-profit...

Take That 4/21

The last week of school is approaching and my list of projects was quite long. I'm pleased to say that this day dedicated to getting things done, was actually used to get things done. 7 marker drawings, 2 paintings, a poster, and a brochure later, I'm down to one last poster and a set of pencil drawings. Phew! That's alot to finish in one day! I do not fear the pressure of time, I harness it! It's only 8:30, and I'm hoping to get at least one more thing done before the weekend.

For those of you that don't remember or didn't know, this weekend is the Y-me Breast Cancer walk. I'm hoping to get some good video and be able to make another music video. We'll see how it goes. I don't want a whole video of just marching people, it could get dull. Wish us luck and good weather!

Money's Worth

I bought some markers the other day SPECIFICALLY for an upcoming art project. Said project did not get very far due to said markers spewing ink which had pooled inside each lid. Not being able to do anything further during class for the project, I kept myself occupied drawing a picture of my dissatisfaction of cheap markers. Since then new markers have been bought and this one panel image gave me a chance to practice my illustrator-shading. Too bad some of my colors are lost when uploading to the web.

Tables Should Turn

It's only the third day of March and I doubt we'll see a more ridiculous story this month. For those of you who haven't heard a lawyer/judge, Roy Pearson, for the past two years has been suing a drycleaners $67 million dollars for losing his pants, despite the fact the pants were found a week later. The couple that owns the store offered to buy him a new suit, and then offered him thousands of dollars to drop the case. This guy is suing because the store promised customer satisfaction and did not deliver. The $67 million is supposed to cover the amount of a new suit AND the costs for him to rent a car every weekend and drive to a different cleaners for the next 10 years. This has got to be the most unbelievable thing I've ever heard. How many cars and parking space fees could you pay with just $1 million? I wonder, Roy Pearson, did you as a lawyer ever lose a case in court? Would you think it just if your previous clients sued you on the basis of "He said he would try his best in court to win, but I think he's trying could only be rated as mediocre." If this Pearson wins this case, I don't see much hope in the future of small businesses. To err is human. Perhaps Roy Pearson and Jack Thompson should be shipped off somewhere and they can spend eternity coming up with even wilder and outrageous lawsuits on the world's population as a whole. Just sue everybody at once and get over it.

New Sounds of the Morning

The past few days I've woken up well before my alarm goes off at 7. This morning I lay in bed enjoying the cool breeze coming in through the window and the twittering of the birds outside. As I was mentally cursing a blue jay for not sounding as pleasant as the other birds, my ears were assaulted by the sound of a violent, heaving, retch right outside my apartment. Yes, that's right. At 6:30 in the morning someone was vomiting very loudly in my yard. I heard the sound again further away, and then a third time further still. Apparently said retcher was not sick enough to skip work/school. The good thing of this event was the blue jay didn't care for this guy either and went away, so I was once again left to enjoy the cool breeze and the isolated sound of chirping birds.
