My Little Secret

Everybody is pretty used to us moving by now, and we're pretty used to moving. At this point we are just coolin our heals and waiting for the closing date. We haven't started packing yet, but there are good reasons for that. Inspired by Maru's email I made this new 3-panel on our moving process. I tried it first in Photoshop like the pro's do it, but I really think the result comes out better in Illustrator. I'm sure that's because the pro's I refer to do this type of stuff on the pixel friendly PC.

Item #42

So I have finally decided to albumize all my photos. I've been thinking about it for while, but this time I have actually done it. It all started when, for no particular reason at all, I dragged a huge box out of the closest which contained a few small albums and a shoe box. As I gently brushed the dust off the shoe box and slowly pulled back the lid 500+ pieces of memory looked up at me and said, "Hey kid, how've ya been? Wanna go for a trip? Watch those fingerprints and let's go!" And off we went down memory lane, gutting the incomplete and disorganized mini-albums into two larger and chronologically sorted albums. I am glad to say that my distant past is in place, all the way through high school. And while working my way through this new goal I have added item TELL SELF TO DEVELOP ALL PHOTOS IN 4X6 to my "if I ever get to go back in time list." I may never get to use this list, but I would hate to be passed up to go back in time and fix some things because I wasn't prepared. Other things on this list to tell myself include: Don't run your big wheel full speed into the cement curb, getting stuck in knee-deep mud is not a good idea, and be more careful when playing marco polo on a playground with your eyes closed so you don't fall off face first into the wood chips. I don't think I would fix all my mistakes though, cuz then I would have a lot less funny stories to tell. Like the time I steered my bike into a face-level branch of a tree, or when the wet grass beyond the slip n' slide help propel me into a red ant hill. Painful stories are probably the funniest stories. I still miss that big wheel though...

So the next order of business is The Man Era. From wedding day on needs to be sorted and organized, and from 2003 on needs to be printed. 2/3/03 shows the last photo taken in Vegas when The Man dropped the camera while trying to walk backwards on an uneven sidewalk. A couple more photos of me looking faux-mad that my camera had been dropped were shot so the film we had would rewind itself and at least the pictures would be saved. Although it is much more likely for us to take pictures with the digital camera because there's never the worry of running out of film, or having to keep that photo that makes you look really REALLY bad. Hopefully after all the albumizing is complete I will be more diligent about printing off pictures.

I do happen to have quite a few duplicates, mostly from high school. J-chan and Maru, you can have your pick of them. I don't have contact with anyone else from the big HS years, but I think you might still be friends with some of these people. And I also found OPERATIN... oh yeah!

Filler

So I forgot to point this out earlier; here it is now. I mentioned in a previous post that I often feel parallel to Penny Arcade. This COMIC was posted three days after I wrote Ready...Set...GoSTOP! I'm only 42% sure that alter-ego Gabe is the long lost sibling of alter-ego C-chan, but the evidence just keeps growing. If not siblings, then perhaps cousins...cousins that used to see each other almost every major holiday. Or something like that.
