It's no secret. I am a serious procrastinator. I often find myself with due dates, dead lines, or stuff that has just been put off to too long staring at me from random corners of the room, and yet I manage to find something else "more important." Here's today's procrasti-map of events:
- Wake up at 10:30 and bid The Man farewell as he heads off to work. Think to self, "Congratulations! You're up before noon! You're gonna get so much done today!
- Watch weather channel and decide today is a great day to open all the windows. Open all windows.
- Wander around downstairs before signing onto computer and checking email. Open current art project and review work that was done two days ago.
- Go to neighbors house to feed cats. Remember that neighbors have HBO so it's a good time to see what movies are there to watch.
- Watch Brokeback Mountain. Be mad at everyone who watched this movie and never told you that it drags on forever and has no point or direction.
- Check mail.
- Take shower and then spray down shower with chemicals so it can be cleaned later.
- Add a couple more items to current art project. Progam is being difficult. Uninstall and reinstall programs.
- Heat up and eat Corn Dog Meal tv dinner.
- Pay bills.
- Read online comics.
- Hang papertowel holder that has been sitting on counter for two weeks.
- Look at art project again. Print out a couple pages.
- Take sheets out of dryer (from three days ago) and upstairs to be folded.
- Start folding sheets, half-way through remember last night's dream.
- Search for J's dream book for meaning of dream. Dream book doesn't even list robot. Ocean says "see SEA" and Sea says "see WATER" Give up on stupid dream book and finish folding sheets.
- Put sheets away in linen closet and smell cleaning solution that was sprayed in shower earlier. Oops! Forgot about that. Clean shower.
- Pick up random items and put away.
- Write return address on previously paid bills.
- Write Blog on procrastination.
So I'll admit it's not my worst day so far of not doing what I really should be doing; like the time I didn't want to write a speech so I cleaned all the filters in my vaccuum. It could be worse, I could be sitting on my ass all day watching tv. It's only 5:45. I may yet be able to finish what I need to...

Typical Conversation
So, having found out the oh-so-simple issue with my Wacom I celebrated by doing another 3-panel. Inspired by an actual conversation, this comic was actually drawn this time last year. That's J-chan in the picture and our phone conversation from when she was trying to unsuccessfully use my modem. Since I don't have time to be extremely creative, I've decided to practice on older pieces. Just hope I don't start pulling out the highschool sketch books. Let's just say that anime inspired comics sometimes get out of control... This was already shown to the subject it features, and I HAVE to post the reaction to it: "This is f***** awesome! Its totally going on the front of one of my notebooks!" Glad to hear it J. Glad to hear it.

The Good Deed
I'm officially a good Samaritan now. The other night at school I just happened to park in front of a van whose lights had been left on. As I was leaving school I just happened to be reaching my car as the owner of said van was trying to turn his engine but only getting a sad click-click-click in return. So I threw my stuff into my car and offered to help him jump his car seeings though our cars were already conveniently parked nose to nose. A few sad clicks and a small roar later his car was on again and I went on my way. The whole episode took maybe 15 minutes. It reminded me of the Grimms Fairy tales; the hero traveler of the story stops along his way to help someone and then goes on his way only to find out later that because he had such a kind soul now he's bestowed wondrous gifts and rewards. Who knows, maybe this guy was/will be some kind of big shot and later when I need it I'll be recognized and get some money or a cool hat. Never know.
Although my Wacom tablet isn't working the way I wanted to, I was able to utilize it a little bit. I have taken down the photo of The Man and I. Even though it was photo-shop abstracted,
I didn't like having our picture on an anonymous blog. So I made one instead, and hope to make others to go along with our current time. I had some other sketches as well, but when I showed the options to The Man, it was the winter picture that made him laugh. It really has been cold for too long here.

Fruit Doth Test Mine Patience
So I'm still feeling my way around the new and unfamiliar world of the Mac. This must be what a non-computer person feels like when they try to do...anything. I bought myself a Wacom tablet yesterday. It came with a mouse and a drawing pen; I'm not a fan of using a track pad for everything. Unfortunately this great tool does not like to work when it's software is installed. Funny right? It'll work just being plugged in, but I am unable to customize the settings on it. When I install the software I can customize all kinds of things like sensitivity and brush stroke, but I can't do anything with these things. When looking at the "trouble shooting" section of the manual it tells me "Access the 'GO' folder and in 'Library' find the 'Preferences.'" GO folder! What's that! I don't have a GO folder! Nothing on here is labeled GO! Apparently this is the main folder on the computer; the one PC users know as My Computer. But for some reason my GO is called Macintosh HD. GO figure! (sattirical laughter) You can imagine my frustration when I do what this manual tells me and my problem still exists.
It almost makes me feel for the people that call my store trying to order off the web, but just can't get it. Almost. "Ok, now click on the picture. Did you click on the picture? No, you have to CLICK ON THE PICTURE. Ok. Now see that other picture? Good. Now click on THAT picture. No, you have to CLICK ON IT!" I wish I could charge them for the 15 minute WEB101 tutorial they are getting. But, alas, there was no one to help me. When I have a moment, perhaps I will call their customer service and get a free MAC101 tutorial. "You need to find the GO folder. The GO folder...are you sure you don't have a GO folder? Is your computer on? How long have you owned it? Why didn't you learn about it before buying fancy crap to go with it?" I guess I'll get it eventually. Hopefully it won't be too long before I master the Mac...
They'll call me The Macster...

I played my Sims today. I've missed you so! What has only been months has felt like an eternity. Just wait until summer when I can purchase and fully enjoy the newest expansion pack!
