Fruit Doth Test Mine Patience

So I'm still feeling my way around the new and unfamiliar world of the Mac. This must be what a non-computer person feels like when they try to do...anything. I bought myself a Wacom tablet yesterday. It came with a mouse and a drawing pen; I'm not a fan of using a track pad for everything. Unfortunately this great tool does not like to work when it's software is installed. Funny right? It'll work just being plugged in, but I am unable to customize the settings on it. When I install the software I can customize all kinds of things like sensitivity and brush stroke, but I can't do anything with these things. When looking at the "trouble shooting" section of the manual it tells me "Access the 'GO' folder and in 'Library' find the 'Preferences.'" GO folder! What's that! I don't have a GO folder! Nothing on here is labeled GO! Apparently this is the main folder on the computer; the one PC users know as My Computer. But for some reason my GO is called Macintosh HD. GO figure! (sattirical laughter) You can imagine my frustration when I do what this manual tells me and my problem still exists.
It almost makes me feel for the people that call my store trying to order off the web, but just can't get it. Almost. "Ok, now click on the picture. Did you click on the picture? No, you have to CLICK ON THE PICTURE. Ok. Now see that other picture? Good. Now click on THAT picture. No, you have to CLICK ON IT!" I wish I could charge them for the 15 minute WEB101 tutorial they are getting. But, alas, there was no one to help me. When I have a moment, perhaps I will call their customer service and get a free MAC101 tutorial. "You need to find the GO folder. The GO folder...are you sure you don't have a GO folder? Is your computer on? How long have you owned it? Why didn't you learn about it before buying fancy crap to go with it?" I guess I'll get it eventually. Hopefully it won't be too long before I master the Mac...
They'll call me The Macster...
